Here's my take on this weeks IF. I've been having trouble with the white background, which is frustrating me! The badgers head doesn't look right on the white background, he just blends in too much. I've tried dropping in various colour backgrounds, but nothing seems to be working. Grumble.
Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend!
very nice!
ReplyDeleteI like it! I know what you mean though; when it doesn't look "just right" to yourself, it is frustrating. But it really looks fine. It usually bothers the artist the most and no one else thinks anything of it :)
ReplyDeleteLovely picture! The middle works best to my eye
ReplyDeleteSweet illustration. I know the problem but I think the light brown works really well as a background.
ReplyDeleteWonderful illustration, I like the second bg color.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! I love your work!
ReplyDeleteThis is so adorable Lucy! Love it! :o)
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite is still the white background one. What if you add a bit of shade and contrast to the right side of his face? Like you have on his back (right under his arm). Just a tiny bit of grey there might define the whole face.
Really sweet illo. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the white background. Try thickening the outline around the badger's head. It just might do the trick. :)
Thank you for your comments and advice everyone! I will go back to the illo and tweak it a bit I think! x
ReplyDeleteVery nice!Love the characters!
ReplyDeleteI feel you frustration. I adore the illustration. and I like it best on the fawn colour, but maybe you just need to work on the shadows to ground them more. darken them up. They just look like the best of friends. xo
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lucy, for following me! Your work is amazing! Is there any pointers you can give a fledgling artist such as myself?
ReplyDeletethese two look like they are enjoying themselves. I like both backgrounds, but the 2nd is my favorite! i love the badger character, :)
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet characters! love this illo! :)
