A little update!

Hello! This a long overdue update for my poor blog!

I've been a busy bee recently with my day job, but I've been working on an alphabet illustration after my 9-5 and finished it up this weekend. It was originally an animal alphabet, but a few insects sneaked their way in!

Here are a few details of some of my favourites...

Harmony Exhibition: Private View!

We had our private view last night for the Harmony exhibition in Cheltenham. Here are a few photos from the evening, we had a great turnout! You should also check out the lovely Liz Clayton's blog for more photos. The exhibition will be staying open daily 10-5 until Tuesday 17th July.

Harmony Exhibition: 11-17 July 2012

The GradGallery exhibition is currently open at The Gardens Gallery, Cheltenham. There's a variety of work on show, ranging from illustration to photography. There are originals and prints for sale and lots of lovely greetings cards and postcards to purchase.

Thank you to everyone who has visited so far, we have had some great comments and met some lovely people! Please pop in and say hello if you are in the area. I'll be there most days, we are open 10-5 until Tuesday 17th July.

These are a few photos of the exhibition:

Duck Pond Illustration

I posted a few snippets of this illustration on twitter a few days ago and here is the finished piece! The furry creature on the edge of the pond is a water vole if you are curious!

Something new...!

Good morning! Here's something new that I haven't posted on my blog before. It was a speculative piece I did for a client at the end of last year. Thought I would post the rough and the final image so you can get a small insight into my process!

Hello everyone!

Just thought I would show you a quick photo of my new studio space (sorry for the iPhone snap!). I've been slowly moving stuff in over the past couple of weekends and now it's ready for me to start work. It's so nice to have a little space of my own, I'm really looking forward to getting lots of painting done!

I'll get some new work posted up soon, I'm getting busy preparing for a couple of upcoming exhibitions at the moment. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday everyone!

Jungle Illo - Take 2!

I spent a little time last week re-working an illustration for my portfolio (you can see the original if you scroll down a bit!), after some fab advice from Hannah at Plum Pudding. I think it's looking a lot better now, especially Tiger. I think I should write him his own little story.

If you go down to the woods today...

A new sample for my portfolio, the Teddy Bears' Picnic! I've had the Teddy Bears' picnic song stuck in my head for the entire weekend, it's starting to drive me a little crazy so I'm glad I've finished this!

I'm also using this for this weeks Illustration Friday! This weeks word was 'prepare'. The bears were well-prepared for this years Teddy Bears' picnic, bringing fresh lemonade and a yummy jam sponge cake!

Goodbye 2011, Hello 2012!

Happy New Year to everyone!!

We have now said goodbye to 2011 and welcomed in the new year, 2012 I can't believe it!

2011 has been a good year for me, not one of the best though! My illustration work has suffered slightly due to me working full time, but I still managed to squeeze quite a bit of illustration related goodness in! My highlights include the 1st and 2nd GradGallery exhibitions in Cheltenham and Bristol, my work being including in Liberty's S/S 2011 Storybook Collection, small commissions for Scholastic and Bag of Badgers, the launch of my new, shiny website and lots of new portfolio pieces! I've got lots of plans for this new year and I'm really going to make this my year for illustration.

I hope everyone has a lovely year filled with happiness, luck, lots of tea and the odd chocolate brownie! :-)

Here are a couple of my photo highlights from 2011:
